a late night view of our camp
... the last photo uploaded successfully. I was just about to call it a day when I realized I had yet to show you the beauty of the Antarctican night...

Dry Ice Mist
CO2 freezes at -78.5°C... when exposed to 'normal' temperatures, it sublimates producing 'fog', or fine mist. Though it's not quite -78°C in Antarctica, we have our own version of dry ice: Strong Winds coupled with Loose Snow. The winds of the past week have kicked and picked up a fine mist of snow that looks much like dry ice sublimating.
Max readying for the Morning Rush!
every morning we execute a special routine whereby we complete all our in-tent chores, then quickly arrange and aggregate our belongings into piles, so that the minute we open the tent door, we can rush our stuff straight from tent to sled as efficiently and rapidly as possible, and then 1-2-3 the camp is taken down and we're on our way!
