we just had breakfast.
it's snowing lightly outside... we're resting peacefully.
even on this calm day - without a challenge in sight - it's good to be with The Team.
back in Lebanon, when beautiful conditions and fresh snow come together,
the trend is to 'call in sick to go skiing'...
Today, after 2 weeks on the Ice in Antarctica, we're 'calling in sick' to avoid skiing altogether!
It's our day off, and by George it couldn't have come at a better time!
with two weeks behind us, and calculations on speed, distance, and time,
we've come to the conclusion that if all goes as planned,
we'll reach the South Pole on New Year's Eve! *fingers crossed*
...then we'd be able to run around the pole celebrating New Year with EVERYONE on Earth!!!
*
All time zones converge at the pole. In most places on Earth local time is more-or-less synchronised to the position of the sun in the sky. This fails at the South Pole which has 'days' lasting for a whole year.
